2 day course: 10am - 4pm
This course is designed for the beginner, or those artists who are looking to refresh their knowledge and revise the core principles of portraiture or painting in oils.
Over the 2 days, Peter will guide you through his structured approach to creating a portrait, which includes the following key steps;
How to start a portrait
Mixing accurate flesh tones
Capturing facial details
Creating a good likeness
Working from excellent photographic images (with an opportunity to bring your own images to work from) this course provides plenty of 1-1 instruction from Peter, as well as informal group critiques and discussions, all helping to increase your knowledge and enjoyment of portraiture.
During this 2 day course you can expect to produce 1 head-and-shoulders portrait.
Artist quality oil paints by Michael Harding are provided for you to work with during this course, as well as all other materials. You only need to bring brushes!
What to bring:
A selection of paint brushes in a good range of sizes from 0 - 12, suitable for oil painting.
